Middle School Band Notes

MARCHING BAND INFORMATION (7th and 8th Grade)

The first marching band payment, consumable fee, and all forms are now PAST DUE. Please get these turned in ASAP. If you have any questions, please let me know.

The 2nd payment is due on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. This fee is paid online using SchoolPay on the finneytown.org website. All information can be found in the band handbook.

CELEBRATIONS

We are extremely proud of our entire Band Program! Our highly successful year ended at our Spring Concert last week. We could not be more proud of the growth we have seen in our students this year all the way from 5th grade through High School. We truly love and appreciate all of our students, and the wonderful Finneytown Community! We can’t wait to see what next year brings!

Our Spring concert is Wednesday, May 18, 2022. The concert will begin at 7pm. All students should wear white dress tops and black dress bottoms. Report times and locations are below:

6th Grade Band - Report to the Band room at 6:15pm

7th Grade Band - Report to the Choir room at 6:20pm

8th Grade Band - Report to the Orchestra room at 6:30pm

CHAPERONES NEEDED - MAY BAND CONCERT!

We are in need of 2 adults for each grade level who are willing to chaperone students before they perform at the May concert. If you are interested in helping us out in this way, please email bdelaney@finneytown.org.

MENTORING

Mentoring is now complete for this school year. We look forward to resuming this next school year!

CELEBRATIONS

6TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Jordan Brown! Jordan has made big improvements in band class. It has been great to see him grow as a musician and person. Keep up the good work!

7TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Wyatt Miller! Wyatt learned a new percussion part for our concert this week! His hard work and tenacity is helping the entire band. Keep it up, Wyatt!

8TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Randy Master! Randy has worked hard to earn this recognition throughout the year. He continues to improve each week, and I can’t wait to see how he does on Snare in the marching band this upcoming year. Keep it up, Randy!

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Cameron Stroud! Cameron works hard each day, and is improving so much on his instrument! Keep it up!

7TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Cora Statt! Cora works hard each week to be prepared for band class. She has improved so much since the beginning of the year. Keep up the good work!

8TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Alex Anderson! Alex is someone who is a quiet leader. I am happy to have him in class, and look forward to seeing his continued progress! Keep it up!

THANK YOU - FROM FMPA

The Finneytown Music Parents Association would like to extend all our gratitude to the students & families that participated in the Butter Braid Fundraiser. Because of your efforts we were able to raise $4520! We are so thankful to the community for their support! These are funds that will benefit music programming for students in  K - 12th grades. Congratulations to the following students whose names were drawn as winners in our Dunkin’ Donuts gift card sales incentive - Max McMahan (HS), Axel Valle (MS), Hannah Hoverson (W), and  Brooklyn Perry (B).

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Mariah Anderson! Mariah has really improved on the Clarinet this year. We love having her in our band. Keep it up, Mariah!

8TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Sanchu Lama! Sanchu is a great asset to our 8th grade band. She works hard every day and is always focused in class. Keep it up, Sanchu!

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Justice-Blaise Welch! Justice works so hard in band class! He is always prepared, he stays after school for mentoring, and he proves every day that he just wants to be better at his instrument! We are so proud of you, Justice! Keep it up!

7TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Braxton Payne! Braxton has continued to work hard to improve this year. His buzz roll improved dramatically last week! Keep working hard, Braxton!

8TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Desiree Parker! Desiree made big improvements on her instrument last week! It was great hearing her growth! Keep it up, Desiree!

BUTTERBRAID FUNDRAISER

Butterbraids are due on Monday 4/4. Please sell as many as you can! The money you raise helps to support the entire K-12 music program, and helps us to offer high quality music education to our students.

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Braysen Crawford! Braysen joined band late, but you wouldn't be able to tell! He has worked very hard in class, and he comes to mentoring after school to get extra help! Keep it up, Braysen!

7TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Lena Douglass! Lena is a student who has made significant improvements since the beginning of the year! I'm proud of the progress she continues to make each day! Keep working hard, Lena!

8TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Luke Day! Luke has continued to grow on the Tenor Sax all year. He is a huge reason the 8th grade ensemble sounds as mature as they do! We will definitely miss him when he goes to St. X next year. Keep up the great work, Luke!

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Kendall Richard! Kendall continues to improve each week, and is becoming more consistent with his abilities every day! I can't wait to see how he progresses in the coming years! Keep it up, Kendall!

8TH

Congratulations to our band member of the week, Jack Haarlammert! Not only has Jack continued to excel in the classroom, but he has also taken on extra curricular band activities such as Winter Drumline! Jack is a natural leader, and we love having him in our program! Keep it up, Jack!
